CRAZYLEGS 2011 COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ASKED ABOUT RACE WEEK


Q: Can I register on Race Day?

A: You can register at the Nicholas Johnson Pavilion next to the west end of the Kohl Center from 7-9am on Saturday morning. The cost to register is $40 walkers / $50 runners. You will receive your race packet at that time. NO REGISTRATION AT THE SQUARE.

 


Q: Can I pick up my t-shirt and race bib at the Capitol Square?

A: No.

 


Q: Do I need to register my children for the walk?

A: If they do not want a tshirt, you do not need to register your children for the walk.

 


Q: What if I'm too late to pick up my tshirt and race bib?

A: Packets can be picked up after race day by contacting the Crazylegs Classic hotline at 608 261-LEGS (5347) or email crazylegs@athletics.wisc.edu.

 


Q: Can I pick up tshirts and race bibs for others?

A: Yes.

 


Q: Are strollers allowed in the Run?

A: No. For the safety of all runners, strollers or baby joggers of any kind will not be allowed in the Run. They are, however, allowed in the Walk. Strollers, baby joggers and wagons are not allowed in the Stadium and can be checked in at the VIP parking area at the spectator entrance.

 


Q: Can I buy shirts later?

A: If shirts are available, you can purchase them from our Crazylegs Classic website

 


Q: Where is the finish line?

A: All runners and walkers finish on the football field in Camp Randall Stadium.

 


Q: Where do I find the buses to the Capitol Square (start)?

A: Please check the website for Stadium and Kohl Center pick-up locations. On Monroe Street across from Gate 1 and Stadium. The first bus leaves at 7am and the last bus leaves at 9am.

 


Q: Is there a bus back to the Square?

A: No.

 


Q: Where are the sweats trucks located?

A: Trucks for runner’s gear will be located on the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd. and Main Street; truck for walker’s gear will be located on Wisconsin Ave. Pick-up will be at the north end of the Stadium at Gate 4 (follow signs). DO NOT leave valuables in your sweats bag. We will not be responsible for any loss of property.

 


Q: Where do I find the sweats at the finish?

A: In the corridor at the north end of the Stadium at Gate 4 – watch for signs.

 


Q: What time is the awards ceremony?

A: 11:45 am (approximately)

 


Q: Where is First Aid located at the finish?

A: First Aid room at the south end of Camp Randall, look for signs.

 


Q: Is there first aid along the course?

A: Yes. Radio contact can be made at mile markers or any police vehicle along the course. Paramedics will travel the course on bicycles. They will be wearing orange vests with “First Aid” on the back. If you have access to a cell phone, call 608 262-9130 or 608 263-6942 and let them know your location.

 


Q: Where are the water stops?

A: At three miles and at the finish. Walkers have a stop near the half way point.

 


Q: Are refreshments available after the race?

A: Beverages and fruit are provided at no charge for race participants. Hot dogs, brats and beverages will be available for purchase for the public.

 


Q: Are showers available?

A: Yes. Race numbers are required for entry to Camp Randall Shell (east side of Stadium, enter north end) for dressing and showering. Bring a towel and lock. Doors open at 9am so please plan accordingly. We are not responsible for lost personal items.

 


Q: when Will results be available?

A: Race results will be available online after the race. Please check our website www.crazylegsclassic.com. Check back often as it takes a while to load. There will also be a supplement in Sunday’s Wisconsin State Journal.

 


Q: Where are spectators allowed?

A: Spectators can enter the stadium (please follow appropriate spectator signs). For convenience and safety for all, NO STROLLERS OR WAGONS will be allowed in the Stadium. They can be checked in at the VIP parking area near Gate 1 where they will be secure and monitored at all times.

 


Q: Any suggestions on meeting family and friends in the Stadium after the race?

A: Yes. Since spectators are not allowed on the Camp Randall field, pre-determine a location in the Stadium to meet your family and friends such as a section and row. (Ex. sections A-K, rows 1-50)

 


Q: How do I get out of the Stadium?

A: Exits will be at the south end and west side of the Stadium.

 


Q: When will the “5th Quarter” start with Mike Leckrone and the UW Marching Band?

A: Immediately following the awards ceremony scheduled to begin at NOON.

 


Q: Where can I take questions or concerns?

A: During registration you can go to the “Help” desk located in the Nicholas Johnson Pavilion for assistance. At the Stadium you can go to Guest Services in the south end zone corridor of the stadium.
