“Yes! With the UW Alumni of North Texas around White Rock Lake in Dallas on 4/24. We're even featuring imported State Street (red) brats for the BBQ to follow the run/walk/bike, a larger than life inflatable Bucky, and fun for the whole family!”
Wake up. Run/walk in the iconic Crazylegs race on a sunny California beach. Enjoy a post race Wisconsin style celebration. All makes for a pretty good Saturday morning and we are excited to share in this experience with Badgers around the world!"

"I ran in the first Crazylegs in 1982! It was the start of my running career.
15 marathons and an Iron Man later I am glad we are running for Bucky
in Santa Barbara California this year. I graduated in 1985 and moved away. Crazylegs World is my chance to truly connect to the University I love so much."

"We finally have a chance to participate in Crazylegs again!
My Badger friends in Miami Florida are fired up for April 24 2010.
We'll be running with with you guys. Same time same date!!"
Christina Donigan

The Crazylegs Classic, the increasingly popular annual run/walk that takes place in Madison each spring and benefits UW Athletics, has expanded this year adding an event called “Crazylegs World.”
The idea is this: in addition to the nearly 20,000 people who are currently taking part in the race in Madison, UW Athletics, the National W Club and the Wisconsin Alumni Association have joined forces to help coordinate satellite events, on the same day, anywhere there is interest – and anyplace in between! There are “World Teams” from Dallas to Chicago, Portland to Boston, San Francisco to Boise that have already registered and set their own “Crazylegs Race” locations!

Basically, you can do your own run or walk no matter where you are and for whatever length you want it to be! Synchronize your watch to 10:00 a.m. CST (official start time for the Crazylegs Classic) to run/walk your event simultaneously with us in Madison, WI or anytime on April 24th. The most important thing is bringing together the Badger communities (both here at UW and across the world) for a fun-filled and memorable event to be enjoyed by family members, friends, UW alums alike.
The legacy of the Crazylegs Classic continues to grow for now 28 years, said Tom Grantham, co-founder and chairman of the Crazylegs Classic. The focus of so many people to health concious activities and the camaraderie of this event in support of Badger athletics is outstanding. Wherever you are in the world, Crazylegs is going global so you, too, can join in Crazylegs World and be a part of the legacy and annual tradition.
The National W Club, the athletic letterwinners organization at UW-Madison, will coordinate sign-up and distribution of t-shirts and race bibs to groups around the world that want to conduct their own race on the same day that the main race is taking place in Madison.
As the Crazylegs Classic goes worldwide, the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) is excited to be a part of this great chance for Badger alumni to take part in the fun and festivities from home, no matter where you live, said Paula Bonner, WAAs President and CEO. Whether you race with other Badger fans in your alumni chapter area, or set your own pace for a solo run, we encourage UW grads around the world to join us this April for a great Crazylegs experience.
The creation of a synchronized, worldwide Crazylegs run materialized this spring when it was learned that American military personnel in Iraq, who had ties back to the Madison area, ran their own race. In addition, people in Apex, N.C., sent photos of their own version of Crazylegs back to the W Club.
As this concept evolved of being able to do this away from Madison, we all looked at one another and basically said, 'you could only do this at Wisconsin, said Terry Murawski, Executive Director of the National W Club. It's the uniqueness of our fans and the uniqueness of this fundraising event and the strong personality of the University of Wisconsin Badgers that makes this possible.
If you register as a “Crazylegs World Individual”, the race packet (T-shirt and bib) will be sent to the mailing address you provided when registering. If you are registering as a participant on a “Crazylegs World Team”, the race packet will be mailed to the Team Group Leader.
